Overall, in just a few months we both lost over 1 stone in weight and 5 and 8 inches each across all of our body measurements which was an extremely pleasing result.

We both joined the Gym in October 2016 and spent three months training on our own with no clear plan, in hindsight overdoing the cardio sessions. We realised after that period we needed guidance on our training so decided to join up with Sean for 10 weeks of personal training along with getting him to write a personalised nutritional plan for us.
Each session with Sean was never the same as every week there would be a different challenge to conquer. Sean’s approach to the sessions makes them very enjoyable and fun but at the same time week on week you are being pushed a little further, the difference in our fitness levels at the end of the 10 weeks was remarkably evident.
Overall we both lost over 1 stone (15lbs+) in weight and over 5 and 8 inches each across all of our body measurements which was an extremely pleasing result.
We would definitely recommend Sean to any other couple or individual who are looking to lose weight or start a new fitness program.

I have known Sean since 2012 and have trained with him on a regular basis since then.
On our first meeting I was immediately impressed by his very professional and enthusiastic approach to his work. He was interested to know what training I had been doing and what were my perceived fitness strengths and weaknesses. Over the years I have considerably maintained and improved my level of fitness. Following Sean’s advice I have also made advantageous changes to my life style and diet
I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Sean.
He has the ability to get the best out of people, but also the ability to recognize when he is maybe pushing them too far.
He is an excellent Personnel Trainer, he always has the best interests of his clients at the forefront of everything he does.

The sessions together are always fun, unique and productive which makes every hour a pleasure to go through even it does push you to your limits!

I met Sean in April having started my journey in March 2012. I remember that first month being the most difficult time as I was not sure of what I was doing, and quickly getting bored of using the same machines and feeling rather self-conscious that I was doing everything wrong.
Sean offered me a consultation where my fitness level was assessed and we established my personal objectives. (Weight Loss & Muscle Endurance) I was presented with a training plan that was achievable but initially a real challenge. Over the last 18 months I have used various SB Tailored Training Plans, each one has gradually become more challenging as my fitness levels have increased. During this time I have LOST OVER 5 STONE IN BODY WEIGHT, and transformed from someone who would struggle to run 50 meters to a Tough Mudder finisher in late 2013.
Sean has been so very encouraging, incredibly patient, and supportive – he is a great guy who has helped change my life. I would recommend anyone who is feeling slightly lost at the Gym to spend an hour with him every few months to establish your goals and get some structure in your training.

Sean provides a bespoke personal fitness programme and he has excellent qualifications, experience and knowledge. He carefully assesses your current fitness state and then creates a personalised programme tailor-made for your specific requirements ability level and goals, whilst stretching and improving your fitness level. Be warned: the exercise programme can be quite challenging but it certainly is a great workout and he monitors and supervises you carefully during the 1:1 personal training session. Be sure to work on your programme between the PT sessions to maintain your fitness level. Even though I run and attend a gym regularly the 1:1 PT sessions with Sean were tough at times and certainly improved my core fitness; I felt considerable improvement in my general health, strength and endurance over time.

Sean always shows a great knowledge to identify challenging, enjoyable exercises that help us perform better in our sports (100m sprinting and weightlifting), the difference in performance is very noticeable.

After taking a couple of years out from doing hardly any fitness post leaving the Army I inevitably found myself gaining weight and losing my fitness. Realising this I decided to get back into the swing of things and was introduced to Sean by my dad who is a member at Broadstone gym.
Sean quickly put me through a fitness assessment and after that I had a few PT sessions to build my fitness and confidence again. The workouts varied each time meaning I learnt of new exercises which was great for weight loss and keeping my body guessing. Since seeing Sean for PT and from following his programs I have lost nearly 9 pounds in body fat and actually built muscle across my chest, legs and arms.
Apart from the fitness sessions if I ever need help or advice on things like stretching, different exercises or nutrition Sean is always happy to help.
His wealth of knowledge and friendly approachable manner makes him really easy to talk to and get along with.
Sean’s a genuinely nice guy and i wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone who is looking for any kind of guidance in their fitness goals.

I’ve been going to Sean Burgess for a number of years now to keep me motivated and progressing in my fitness goals.
Sessions are always varied to keep my interest and I feel more confident in the gym. His extensive training and knowledge is self-evident and he has helped me to train safely despite having work-related injuries.
I’ve never thought about going anywhere else for personal training because Sean is professional, reliable, easy to get on with and highly trained.
Karen and Lynda
We would definitely recommend Sean to anyone like us who is looking to lose weight and keep improving their fitness over the age of 50.

Playing regular sport until the age of 45 kept my weight down but my knees, ankles and hips were suffering so I gave the lot up!
Seven years later (and two stone heavier) I decided to join the gym!
I had been dieting and exercising for six months when Sean Burgess saw me on the treadmill, struggling and limping, so he suggested to me that I needed a structured program to help me get the most from my efforts and strengthen my problem knees and ankles. 15 sessions later and I’m playing football (ok, not too competitively) again without using a knee brace or ankle support. I’ve dropped another stone in weight, my ‘beer belly’ is reducing and my body shape has been very much improved. I’m stronger, fitter and in better shape that I was ten years ago!
Every session with Sean is different and never dull. They are well balanced between strength, cardio and suppleness and Sean’s nutritional advice is helping too. He is not an ‘aggressive’ task master – he gently encourages – and I always enjoy my hour with him.
The gym is a much more interesting place to go now and rather than just using the cross trainer, running and rowing machines I use a number of exercises and techniques that I have learned from Sean.
Kate Moss
Sean is an outstanding PT who really understands the psychology of getting fitter as well as the training required. He takes the time to get to know you, your strengths and challenges and, very importantly, is never judgemental. His ability to tailor exercise to my specific needs (and aches and pains) coupled with his calm yet determined approach has enabled me to remain consistent and motivated.

The gym is a much more interesting place to go now and rather than just using the cross trainer, running and rowing machines I use a number of exercises and techniques that I have learned from Sean.
