Although my early educational choices steered me towards a slightly different career path, deep down I have always had the life goal of becoming an established fitness coach. My journey towards finally trying to achieve this started in 2022, the year that I graduated from Hertfordshire University with a BSc (Hons) degree in music composition and technology.
During the challenging period of my second study year I wanted to stay active with my nearby gym being closed because of the pandemic. So, with this in mind I decided to set-up regular circuit sessions in the garden as a way for me and my housemates to keep fit. The enjoyment that I got from both designing and leading these mini classes was definitely the catalyst that ignited a desire to turn my training hobby into a career.
After moving back home to Dorset the decision to pursue a career in the fitness industry was made. Not long after I enrolled on all of the relevant qualifications that I needed to acquire, outside of building up my coaching experience through swimming teaching 5-6 days a week. When I passed my level 2 gyminstructing course I trialled at SB Fitness and thankfully did enough to secure a personal training development position.
Working with Sean and the team every day is great and unquestionably it has only enhanced my passion for being able to help people of all ages, backgrounds and fitness levels accomplish their goals.
As I know myself from competing at a high level in both Tae Kwon-do and swimming, I strongly believe that with the right mindset and support anyone can be successful, which is why I always go the extra mile to keep all of my clients motivated both inside and outside of the gym.
